Dmitry Paradisov

THE GREAT GATSBY ballet costume designer. 

He is a person, who is capable of coming up with costumes for a whole ballet within a few hours, within a couple of weeks dressing the full cast with no sketches or dress patterns.

Dmitry Paradisov is known as an “outstanding designer”. Costumes designed by Dmitry grace not only performances, but are also spotted on red carpets and some are even held in private collections.

He was born in Kiev in 1973.

In 1991 he started working in the National Opera of Ukraine as a tailor of historical-theatrical costume. In a year’s time he left to work in France, where he worked as a costume designer and executive for performances like “Swan Lake” and “Nutcracker” for the troupe of Paris Classical Ballet.

For many years Dmitry has been working with such ballet stars as Aleksey Ratmansky, Nikolai Tsiskaridze and Evelyn Hart. He creates costumes for productions by Roman Viktuk and ensembles by Igor Moiseev. He also created costumes for “Ballet Moscow” theatre.

For the past ten years Dmitry has been collaborating with the Mitrofan Piatnitsky State Academic Choir (Russia).

He creates costumes for show business celebrities and drama theatres. Mr. Paradisov was a costume designer and executive for the Olympic flame hand over ceremony at the Vancouver Olympic Games closing ceremony (2010).
