01.12.2013

Kiev is preparing for the presentation of an international ballet project. Top world professionals have joined forces to work on the project united not only with a wish to create a high-quality and large-scale project but also to present a fresh take on contemporary ballet. This is exactly what will be discussed at a press-conference in Kiev scheduled for 11.00 on 10 December in Fairmont Grand Hotel (Kiev 2 Hall, 1 Naberezhno-Kreshchatytskaya Street). In the course of the press-conference  organisers will announce an official start-date for the project and name its participants.

Speakers at the press-conference:

Denis Matvienko

International ballet star, premier of Mariinskiy Theatre (St Petersburg, Russia)

Konstantin Meladze

Composer, musical producer

Dwight Rhoden

Choreographer, art-director of Complexions Contemporary Ballet (New York, USA)

Alena Matvienko

Ballet producer

The project turned out to be truly international considering the line-up of participants, as is the geography of its staging. For example, it will be staged in Kiev (Ukraine), St Petersburg (Russia) and New York (USA).

Alena Matvienko, producer of the project:

“We decided to create a ballet project not confined to any format, to do something absolutely new. That’s why work on the project doesn’t correspond to the traditional ballet format. For example, on 11 December we will present a music video that will act as an announcement but is an independent musical production by Alan Badoev. Thanks to the video ,  audience will enjoy music by Konstantin Meladze and amazing choreography by Dwight Rhoden in early 2014.”
